Palm palace is something of southall institution. Managed by Ruban and Paul brothers who opened it over nine years ago, it is a popular destination with srilankan families, adventurous non-asians, and critics (its several foodie awards). Its look is polished wooden floor, biscuit coloured wallpaper and smart high backed wood, metal and maroon suide chairs and peach tables linen neatly arranged by waitresses in black uniform. The cooking is srilankan and south indian (the owners are from Srilanka). Most popular of the srilankan dishes are chicken 65, Devl Dishes. |

Seafood specialties and South rotti dishes, South Indian Dosais. The home made vattilappam is not to be missed. Palm Palace specializes in spicy Sri Lankan cuisine at good value prices. The restaurant may not be much to look at but the food is what draws customers back time and time again. Dishes that stand out include the Ceylon curries and the chicken 65 which are both full of flavor but without the overwhelming heat of some of the other dishes. The vegetable side dishes at around £2.50 are also well worth trying to add variation to your meal and at that price you can afford to be experimental. |
